Borescope Inspections

The borescope inspection is a great preventative maintenance tool. Below are several different ways that a borescope inspection can enhance your maintenance plan:
- As a stand-alone inspection, it is a great way to periodically check your unit for issues with minimal disassembly, cost, and downtime.
- Many facilities choose to perform borescope inspections six months prior to the start of a Major Inspection to help reduce the unknown issues that may arise during the inspection. Knowing about an issue prior to opening your machine can save time and money.
- Boroscopes can also be used in Minor Inspections of generators. Removing access panels or end bells can allow a borescope of your stator end windings, stator body, and rotor.
TGM can provide borescope inspections as stand alone outages or as part of another inspection by providing a Technical Director and equipment to inspect your machine. At your request, we can also provide provide labor to facilitate the required access to your machine.
